Wii Consoles
The Wii console with a bundled copy of Wii Sports has been the standard Wii package since it was launched. There are many other bundles around sold by different stores, but this is the standard that pops out of Nintendo’s console making machines.
The inclusion of Wii Sports has created a generation of gamers who might not be able to take on hardcore gamers in a mouse driven FPS, but will whoop you when it comes to ten pin bowling! And that’s what’s great – Wii Sports proved to non-gamers that a console could be fun for them as well.
In fact many people never go and buy another game – they just want the Wii and their sports game, and they’re happy.
Stock levels change regularly, but on the whole, you can get a Wii from most places any time you want, unlike the early days when they were rarer than hens teeth!
There are rumours of a price cut to happen by the back-end of September (in the US the price has been mentioned as $199). Whether such a price cut happens, or is also made in the UK is yet to be seen, but it could kick start the Christmas console market. We will of course be providing the latest prices here on Product Locator, so be sure to check with us first to be sure of getting the best deal!
Latest: In the UK, it looks like as well as the extended sports bundle that has been mentioned, the trade price will drop back down to £179.99, so the Wii will revert to the original launch price, but include the extra game and Motion Plus add on.
